Buzzin’ Brood: Student Spotlight, Dina Ambroci, FCC Biotech Bootcamp Graduate

Dina Ambroci is a recent graduate of the Biotech Boot Camp at Frederick Community College, an innovative training program designed to equip job seekers with the foundational skills needed to enter biotech. Dina’s curiosity & the excitement within biotech is what drew her to the industry and take the next step toward a new career.  Check out what’s inspiring her right now!

1. How did you get here?

I was looking to make a career change, and the biotech industry is one of the most exciting fields to be in right now. With this in mind, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. While researching new career paths, I came across the biotech boot camp at FCC, and it is a perfect fit for my interests and career goals. By joining the boot camp, I aimed to open doors to new opportunities and build a solid foundation for a career in biotechnology.

2. What is currently blowing your mind?

What's blowing my mind is just how fast things are evolving in biotech. We're witnessing breakthroughs in things like personalized medicine and tissue regeneration that were considered impossible just a few years ago. The fact that rare disease cures and treatments are becoming more accessible every day, is incredible.

Another thing that is mind-blowing is how Al is being integrated into biotech and medical research. The way machine learning algorithms are being used to predict protein structures or streamline drug discovery is accelerating the process in ways that humanity did not think possible.

3. If you could explain yourself right now in any emojis, what would they be?

I dream about a future where science and innovation transform the world for the better.

Cutting-edge biotechnology, help us explore the secrets of DNA, providing new opportunities for innovations that once seemed impossible. We are not just researchers—we are problem solversinnovators, and pioneers pushing boundaries. But our mission as humanity goes beyond discovery. We harness the power of biotechnology to create sustainable solutions that will heal our planet. Through relentless research), we develop groundbreaking technologies that combine science, nature, and human progress.

I dream about shaping a future where biotech drives sustainability, innovation fuels progress, and together, we change the world—one discovery at a time.

4. If you could travel into the future, what does your LinkedIn look like?

Given my interest in biotechnology, I would say my LinkedIn will reflect my impact on a global health challenge, environmental sustainability, and improving access to cutting-edge healthcare. It would also have lots of certifications and achievements, a master's degree in biotech, my career evolution in the industry and new skills that I would acquire being in the biotech industry.

5. If you had unlimited resources to develop your own company, what problem would you solve and what would you name your company?

I would create a biotech company where the main goal would be preventing diseases before they start. I would use AI-driven genetic analysis to create personalized health plans and targeted treatments. The main goal would be to cure rare genetic disorders using gene therapy to permanently fix inherited diseases.

The company would be named DnA Shield, DA being my initials so the name would have my signature and will carry my legacy.
